Born to Run blends vintage-washed, heritage prints with two rearing racehorses by British painter George Stubbs. The antique banners, etched with mottos of rebellion like “Don’t Fence Me In”, are a spirited nod to the wild west and the open road. The beautiful, airy backdrop behind the horses is a scenic lithograph from the 1897 World’s Fair & the faded florals and golden wheat were taken from an 1800’s farmers diploma. The pen-and-ink stars and upturned horseshoe are also antique drawings from the same era. And as a final, playful touch, market of stars added a prancing mother horse and foal — a symbol of unbound freedom and joy. The whole design is trimmed in a washed heritage plaid.
